How Virtual Assistants Stay On Top Of The Game
2011 is the Year of Business Technology. Oh, 2010 was not a bad year but with the explosion of smart phones and applications geared toward your business, life is good. A big step toward compiling useful data and keeping your clients in the ever-expanding tech loop are only a few mobile applications away. Mobile applications vary depending on what platform your smart phone uses. For example, Iphones use iOs and Google uses Android. Luckily no matter what type of smart phone you have elected to purchase, your needs should be met through the Application Store/Market. Through all of this mumbo jumbo, most of which the normal smart phone user does not actually need to know, is a ray of sunshine. Free applications. Just the word free, in this economy, should make you grin. Especially when it applies to your business and anything that can help it get lifted off of the ground. And you will sound especially smart and tech savvy, so these applications are a no-brainer. So, let’s get on with the list!
First, we have the BUMP application. Yes, this app is very popular with the younger crowd as a way to share pictures, videos, or even other downloaded applications. However, there are other uses; such as the ability to share contact information, calendar events and social media information! BUMP has also increased its potential with the ability to transfer funds from one PAYPAL account to another, making its value priceless. The best part, though, is the way you share information. Simply pull up the app, put the hand in your phone and BUMP! I am not joking here. You actually bump your mobile phones together and then select what information you would like to share. This is application gold for your business, especially on-the-go. Well, bump-and-go.
Another great application is JUMPSCAN. This may be a little too tech for some, but it is really easy to use and is just a really cool application. JUMPSCAN is an application that is currently in beta mode, which means some bugs are still being worked out, but can be overall effective in your business contact efficiency. JUMPSCAN is free and allows you to put all of your contact information, including social media information into a scannable QR code. This code can be captured or scanned by any “barcode scanner” application and voila! your information is shared. This QR code can also be put on business cards, stationary, websites… the possibilities are endless.
Although there are many applications for virtual connections, some still rely on their good ole physical business items. If your client has a hard time letting go of their coveted business cards and contact lists, GOOGLE GOGGLES is for you. This application was created as a way to take a photo of something to acquire information on the photo‘s subject. This can be used for your business cards as a way to save contact information onto a smart phone.
Last but surely not least is the application DROP BOX. This application is so versatile, you will wonder how your business, and clients for that matter, has lived without it. DROP BOX is an application that creates a folder that is accessible on all of your devices, including computers and smart phones. DROP BOX allows you to access photos, videos or documents at home or on the go. Left an important letter at home? Check your DROP BOX mobile application. Oh, there it is. Whew! It is applications like DROP BOX that make your business run smoother and more efficient. And leaves you a little more relaxed at the end of the day.
These applications listed are just the tip of the iceberg, as they say, as to what mobile applications can do for you. For Virtual Assistants, these are an incredible way to stay on top of the game and show your client that you mean business. Thanks, 2011, for all that you’ve given us. I am sure you are with me in wondering what 2012 will bring us and how your business will be able to expand with the FREEdom these applications provide.
