Mobile Applications 2015 — Part 1

Hello again! We here at NVS love to keep you up-to-date on the latest technology

and innovative practices for your small business. Today we will focus on new

mobile applications geared toward small business. We love mobile technology for

its cost-effective direction of services. Here is what is new in 2015 for mobile

applications:

Contactually – Keeping all of your contacts together is a lot easier today with

smart phones and tablets, not to mention the ability to sync email as well as other

accounts, but Contactually is different. Not only can you save both personal and

professional contacts, but you can group them into buckets and then decide how

often you would like to stay in contact with them. Sounds like a lot of work, but

once you decide how often Contactually creates follow-ups automatically and lets

you know when you last contacted a specific person.

Refresh – If you have meetings regularly, Refresh can help you! By integrating and

syncing your Gmail, Facebook, Evernote and LinkedIn Refresh lets you know what

your last communications were with a client and can even help you realize other

things you have in common, personally. Refresh allows you to build relationships

with clients as well as maintain a professional look by knowing how you met the

client and any notes you have previously made.

Outlook Email Client – While many say that millennials treat email as a passé

media platform, there are still a lot of powerful people that use email every day

and wouldn’t have it any other way. Luckily, Microsoft is finally getting with the

times and allowing users to have the application on their smartphones and

tablets, crossing platforms and making Outlook widely available in a mobile

capacity.

Google Analytics – There is one name in digital marketing that you hear over and

over and over again. Yes, the giant Google has it’s dirty little hands in all that we

do (just kidding Google, we love you!) and can affect everything from where your

website lands on a search engine page to shutting down your website if you are

using “black hat” practices. Google is the web god and we cannot deny him.

However, there is a mobile application that can help us learn what he likes and

doesn’t like, i.e. what helps your website and what hurts it. Integrating digital

marketing and social media techniques and your analytics can look more like

dollar signs.

Genius Scan – Oh, what a world we live in! Turn your smart phone or tablet

camera into a scanner? Yes, please! Right now it is only available on iOS but it is

free!! For an Android version, try Mobile Doc Scanner 3 Lite.

Take advantage of these applications because a free (or even cheap) service in the

business world is priceless. It seems every day holds new applications that can

help you in your personal and professional lives. There are apps for mothers and

couples and sports fans or movie buffs… you use them daily so why not use them

for your business? On a smart phone or a tablet, applications make our lives

easier and make our work more efficient. Are there any applications that your

business could not survive without? Let us know in the comments below! And

don’t forget to follow NVS on Facebook!
